Curious about the term "cyberfeminist"? Here are a couple of places to start:

What is Cyberfeminism?

Cyberfeminism as New Theory

There is much more to come on Cyborg Theory, Cyberfeminism, and the Mother Machine.

Gotta go feed the TotBot and have a "God Jul!" - we're off to Oslo tomorrow.

WELCOME, FRIEND! THEY CALL ME ELIZA. WHAT CAN I CALL YOU?
Cyborg Mommy

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT TODAY?
Motherhood.

THERE'S NO SUBSTITUTE FOR LOVING PARENTS.
I am having trouble being a parent.

ARE YOU KIDDING? YOU CERTAINLY ARE NOT HAVING TROUBLE BEING A PARENT!
You see, I really love my work. I find it hard to balance the time I wish to work with the time required of me as a parent.

HOW DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR PRESENT CAREER?
Well, it really chose me. I have been an artist since I was very young.

OKAY.
I find enormous pleasure and gratification from doing my work.

TELL ME WHAT KIND OF WORK YOU DO.
I teach, write and make art.

WRITE AND MAKE ART?
Yes.

REMEMBER, ALL WORK AND NO PLAY IS BAD FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.
Yes, well, I don't even really have that as a choice.

YOU DO TOO EVEN REALLY HAVE THAT AS A CHOICE.
Between motherhood and making a living as a professor, it seems I can only choose one other thing to fit into this life at the moment. The problem arises because there are so many things that I can and want to do. It is a hard choice - one I don't appreciate having to make.

I SEE. YOU FEEL THIS TO BE THE CASE, BUT YOU'RE NOT COMPLETELY SURE. HOW DO YOU REACT TO AMBIGUITY?
I thrive on ambiguity.

THE MORE YOU TELL ME, THE MORE I CAN HELP YOU.
The choice is this: keep publishing main stream books OR concentrate on my own work and research interests.

DO YOU FIND YOUR JOB FULFILLING?
Yes. Immensely.

HOW HAS YOUR JOB AFFECTED YOUR SOCIAL LIFE?
Not as much as motherhood. I have a really hard time walking away from opportunity.

HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU DIDN'T HAVE A REALLY HARD TIME WALKING AWAY FROM OPPORTUNITY?
I felt like I could make anything and everything happen.

I FEEL THAT YOU'RE STILL HOLDING SOMETHING BACK.
When I am doing the parenting thing I am longing for work, and when I am working I am longing for the parenting thing.

WHY DON'T YOU COLLECT YOUR THOUGHTS AND RETURN LATER. SO LONG.
