Cyborg Mommy
cyberfeminist ruminations by half mother half machine

Well, classes begin again next week and I am under a pile of prep work. This also means that the early morning ritual starts up again. Uggg. I'm a morning person myself, but my four year old is not. She does best when she sleeps uninterrupted until waking and when she doesn't have to be anywhere before noon. So, not only do I have to get myself bathed, dressed, and out the door - I have to wake, dress, feed, pack lunch, and get her out of the door... before I start to get stressed, I think about my friends who have 2, 3, or 4 kids...

We have had 3 computers in the house for a couple of months, which means Cyborg Child has had unlimited usage rights for surfing (Disney, Barbie, PBS Kids, etc.) and Kid Pix (her favorite art program). She was devastated when she walked in this morning and one of the computers was gone - which of course she had come to view as hers. "But I wanted to go to Scooby Doo!" Hmmm. I wonder about those eMacs...

I have fixed some broken links and font embedding issues on the Cyborg Mommy Research site. I have also added a PDF of some shots from one of the performances. I have a bunch of videos to edit and post in Quicktime, but at the rate these simple changes have taken me, they probably won't be on the site until spring break.

Speaking of PBS - check out EGG: the art show. It airs up here in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT.) I don't know about where you live...

Also check out this kindred spirit who found me by way of the most recently updated blogs list!
