Cyborg Mommy
cyberfeminist ruminations by half mother half machine

Wednesday, February 19, 2003

I am back in my University office today. It feels good. I havent really been out of the house since last Friday, except to walk the TotBot down the street to a friends house. The office is quiet with few interruptions. I am getting things done and crossing things off the List. Worldly work is a breeze compared to Parenthood.

I have just been looking through an extremely interesting issue of the SIGCSE Bulletin. Its a special on Women and Computing (Volume 34, Number 2, June 2002). Every article looks interesting - Id love to read it cover to cover, but when? I was looking through the author bios and pictures, when I started thinking I wonder if she has children... I wonder how many of these women have children and families... how many have chosen not to... how many put the decision off until it was too late...

You can download an order form for the issue ($6.50 + $7 shipping) on the site.
