Sunday with the Cyborg Family
I spend so much time out of the house during the week that I really like to stick close to home on the weekends. Cyborg Kid seems to feel the same way, although we haven't spoken about it. We are a family of home bodies and none of us more so than Cyborg Daddy. He is such a nester that he has taken us from hardly a stick of good furniture to a complete and comfortable house in only three years. He works at home and would shrivel up and die if he had to get a job outside of the house.
This is generally how a Sunday goes here: First thing I do on waking is start the coffee and read NY Times online. Cyborg Kid plays with toys or does a little web surfing. Cyborg Daddy sleeps in. After he gets up we all have a little breakfast together and then go to the Jewish Community Center. They swim and I gym. Cyborg Kid then gets a little time at the indoor playscape. We run a couple of errands on the way home.
At home, I putter with laundry and prepping the house for the coming work/school week, maybe do a little cooking, a little prep for Monday classes, and depending on the weather, something outside with CK and CD. The weather has not been cooperating.
I think this afternoon I'll have Digital Photography lesson number two with the little cyborg. Right now she wants to be a photographer when she grows up and I have been showing her how to use my new camera. Perhaps we will look for signs of spring. I'll post her first shots later this week.
I have to enjoy a little down time while I have it. I have 3 workshops on the horizon, possibly another grant to write by April 15, and the end of the school year... it will get very busy very quickly. I heard about one of the grants I wrote in February - I got it! I will be creating a website for my courses on creating class blogs - "Blogging Across the Curriculum." Yeehaaa! (as we say in the South...)
