Immersed in Art Making

Wednesday, July 07, 2004

I’m concentrating on the work for the “Exposing Scarlet” exhibition at the Boston Center for the Arts which opens at Mills Gallery on September 10th. (YIKES!) Many deadlines: images for essay authors, catalogs, and websites; an artist’s statement; the work itself; installation of the work, and then the opening...

So this is what a typical day looks like from here – studio work from 9am-1pm, a couple of hours at one of the many delightful beaches, then hanging out with family, dinner and then a little more work, reading research for writing projects, sleep. Our local friends have all arrived to the neighborhood for vacation so there will be more picnics, boat trips, and beaching in between the work.

Blogging just doesn’t cross my mind much as I work in my paper journals and on books, prints, and animations... In fact I have little or no desire to be online at all these days... amazing.

Today is the half-way mark for the trip. One month has passed and there is one month left.
