Being an artist is a radical act.

OK. I was going to write the usual two lines describing my huge list 'o to do's for today and this week, but I have gotten slightly side tracked. I haven't had much time online this summer, so I wanted to see how Cyborg Mommy was doing on Google - you know how many results came up. Then I like to cruise through quickly and see what's new. I jumped to page 10 of the results and here's a curious one:
blo.gs
blo.gs. tracking 1517386 blogs for 5680 users. ...
blo.gs/?q=mommy - 100k - Supplemental Result - Cached - Similar pages
I clicked the link and it took me to the front page of the FBI. Yes, the FBI. “Tracking 1517386 blogs for 5680 users.” Hhhhmmm. Of course the FBI is tracking blogs! We are a radical lot that chooses to publish our own words and thoughts online. I can't, however, imagine the FBI spending much time on my blog. Really.
I can only imagine that it is my tenuous connection to dear Steve Kurtz and Critical Art Ensemble that has attracted this attention. My contact with Steve in the past four years has amounted to the typical graduate student request for a recommendation letter and condolences sent on hearing of the loss of his wife. I have linked to the CAE Defence site, so perhaps that is what has attracted this scrutiny. I follow the case daily and wonder how he is holding up. I also wonder how much all of this craziness is costing us. Our tax dollars at work.
